A newly refurbished stunning hotel located in the Scottish borders is seeking a Sous Chef to join the team of ten chefs in the kitchen. In this role of Sous Chef you will not only focus on the hotel’s main restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but also on the bar that serves light bites, and the Conservatory that caters for private functions. All of the menus, which the Head Chef has total autonomy on, consist of fresh seasonal locally sourced ingredients. As Sous Chef you will be required to run the kitchen on the Head Chefs days off ensuring that the high standard of cooking is maintained at all times whilst also assisting with the stock control, budget management, processing online orders and having an input on the menu design.
An exceptionally strong Junior Sous Chef ready to step up or an experienced Sous Chef is required to take on this role. It is essential that all chefs applying for this role have recent experience working in kitchens offering dishes using all fresh ingredients. A talented chef who is also a confident team leader with good kitchen management knowledge with plenty of experience running service is needed to take on the role.
