Located in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside this venue is a popular gastro style pub that has a high turnover on food with the capacity to serve 100 covers on the busiest shifts. In this role of Head Chef you will be responsible for managing and directing the kitchen team, ensuring that they are capable of working to the high standards in place whilst remaining calm under the pressure of cooking for large numbers as well as ensuring that the department is fully prepped for service. The menus feature ‘pub classics’ with dishes being prepared using fresh seasonal produce and as Head Chef you will need to be creative with ideas to regularly change the dishes on offer to keep the pub popular with visitors and regulars whilst also being aware of the profitablility of the menus
The pub needs a strong, experienced Sous Chef looking to take the next step or a Head Chef who has been working in high volume, fresh food kitchens previously which have developed your organisational skills. All chefs should be capable of leading a team from the front taking full control of the kitchen to ensure that the customers get the level of cooking and service that they have come to expect at the venue. Good Financial awareness and the ability to achieve a good profit margin is essential for this role.
