The owners of a newly opening boutique style bed and breakfast with a 30 cover bistro, are seeking a Sous Chef join the kitchen team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work along side a talented chef and help to build up an excellent reputation for themselves and the business. As sous chef you will have an input into the menu with focus on using high end locally sourced fresh food. The restaurant will be open all day including brunch, light lunches, and Modern British style menu in the evenings. As this is a senior role you will assist in kitchen management duties including paperwork; implementation of hygiene legislation; and ordering and stock management.
A Sous Chef with a minimum of 2 AA rosette background who has previous experience of fresh food restaurants or gastro pubs resulting in an excellent all round knowledge of the kitchen and an up to date awareness of current cooking trends is required for this role. All chefs applying should have good organisational skills and are able to have the kitchen fully prepped for service times in order to ensure that the department runs smoothly.
