A private school is recruiting for a head chef to oversee the catering provision for both daytime and boarding pupils. In this role you will be responsible for 6 chefs and providing breakfasts, lunches and suppers for over 700 day pupils and 150 boarders. There is a seasonal rolling menu of dishes made from fresh produce. In this position of Head Chef you will mainly work weekdays but there will be occasional evenings and weekends when functions are held at the school. You will be responsible for all aspects of kitchen management and staff training to ensure that high standards are maintained.
A Head Chef has worked in a similar environment where you were cooking all dishes from mainly fresh ingredients. It is essential that you have an enhanced DBS and all relevant food safety and allergen training certificates. The role needs a strong kitchen manager, with excellent communication skills to liaise with the school management.
