An independent day school located in Nottingham is recruiting for a Head Chef to oversee the catering provision for up to 1300 pupils and occasional functions and events. Ingredients are locally sourced to produce freshly prepared food that is varied, contemporary and nutritionally balanced with an emphasis on promoting healthy eating. There are a number of outlets serving a variety of styles of food from breakfasts to grab and go, dining halls and a brasserie all offering seasonal rolling menus. In this position of Head Chef you will work Tuesdays to Saturdays 7am to 3pm and occasional evenings when there are events and functions. You will be responsible for all aspects of kitchen management and staff training to ensure that high standards are maintained.
A Head Chef who has worked in a multi site venue where you were cooking all dishes from mainly fresh ingredients. It is essential that you have an enhanced DBS and all relevant food safety and allergen training certificates and an in-depth knowledge of costings and GP,s. The role needs a strong kitchen manager, with excellent communication skills to liaise with the school management.
