A privately owned country inn located in the picturesque Lake District is seeking to appoint a Head Chef to take charge of the kitchen and manage the brigade of 5 chefs working under you. The property is a popular dining venue with walkers and has menus focusing on high quality, modern contemporary dishes focused on getting the best out of all ingredients. As Head Chef you will be expected to implement and maintain the high cooking standards already in place whilst also managing the kitchen operation to ensure that it is organised, runs smoothly and the junior chefs are trained to run their sections.
All Head Chefs applying for this role should have been working in good quality fresh food establishments in their most recent position. It is important you are focused on high quality, clean dining they are not seeking to create menus with ‘foams and squiggles’ but wish to focus on good food cooked well. The ability to manage to control a small team whilst ensuring that they all perform the standards expected is essential.
