The Head Chef of a large hotel with a busy dining operation located at Manchester airport is recruiting for a Junior Sous Chef to join the team working in the kitchen. This is a varied role where you will be catering for the hotel restaurant which offers grill style, international menus and serves up to 200 covers a day. There is also a separate casual and light bite menu in the bar. The hotel also has offers a large number of meeting rooms which are very popular with corporate guests. In this role of Junior Sous Chef you will be expected to be capable of taking control of any section in the kitchen working to the specifications for dishes set out by the senior chefs, whilst also being able to assist with the supervising of the junior members of the team.
A background working as a Junior Sous Chef or a Senior Chef de Partie in all fresh food kitchens is an essential requirement for this position. The ability to remain calm under pressure when working in a high volume, fast paced environment is also necessary.
