A traditional country village pub is seeking a Sous Chef to take on this opportunity to shine in the role and ensure that current high standards and reputation are retained and with the chance to become Head Chef. The kitchen of the property has a team of three chefs who you assist to lead ensuring punctual, quality service. The food is made with natural, fresh ingredients that are sourced locally where possible. As well as traditional pub classics like popular steak and ale pie or fish and chips. As Sous Chef you will have the opportunity to designed more refined dishes which balance flavour and texture to provide a culinary treat. To keep the menus interesting and seasonal they are changed every ten weeks. Alongside the menu planning and staff training you will also be assisting in the ordering, paperwork and GP.
Requirements:
An experienced Sous Chef willing to be trained up to Head Chef who has been working in a similar fresh food pub environment where you were cooking all dishes from scratch using high quality, fresh ingredients. The role needs a chef who has a mature approach to training in the kitchen in order to get the best out of the team. All chefs should have knowledge of current hygiene legislation with experience of ensuring it is followed at all times.
